Saint-Pardoux (de Mareuil) is 1.5 km from the village of Mareuil-sur-Belle,
± 1000 km from Utrecht and halfway through the historic towns of Angouleme and Perigueux and near the medieval town of Brantôme. It is in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord-Limousin, in the Dordogne, famous for its many castles and prehistoric finds.
The area is characterized by rolling hills with beautiful views, interspersed with forests, grain and sunflower fields and flowery valleys.
Nature and wildlife are here for what one would wish.
There is a great variety of trees, flowers and plants.
The forests are inhabited by deer, wild boars, foxes and small reptiles.
Floating in the air regularly buzzards, sparrow hawks and harriers.
Mareuil-sur-Belle is a typical French village with all amenities: shops, butchers, small supermarket, pharmacy, post office, doctor, dentist, veterinarian, banks, Tabac with summers Dutch newspapers and a number of eateries. On Tuesday morning there is a small market in Mareuil.
Ribérac drive away where you will find the larger supermarkets within a half hour.
On Friday there is also one of the largest and liveliest markets in the area.

Sights in the Périgord Vert.
This part of the Dordogne is one of the most beautiful parts of France.
A short distance from Saint-Pardoux are the picturesque villages Brantôme (the Venice of the Dordogne) and Bourdeilles.
In 45 minutes you are in the capital of the Dordogne: Périgueux, a beautiful city with many historical sites. A little further away, but definitely worth it, are Bergerac and St. Emilion (for good wines).

In the immediate vicinity of Saint-Pardoux for walking and mountain biking to (there are two bikes available) and o.a.vanuit Brantôme there are fun canoeing on the Dronne.
Also golf is possible; there is three beautiful courses in the area.
Often reserve be repulsed without starting time.
Recently there in Soyaux, 30 minutes, driving the climbing park "Accro Parc de Soyaux" with 4 different courses for different age groups.
But one day with a game of pétanque and is not to be sneezed a dip in the pool.
