Saint-Pardoux (de Mareuil) is 1.5 km from the village of Mareuil-sur-Belle,
± 1000 km from Utrecht and halfway through the historic towns of Angouleme and Perigueux and near the medieval town of Brantôme. It is in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord-Limousin, in the Dordogne, famous for its many castles and prehistoric finds.
The area is characterized by rolling hills with beautiful views, interspersed with forests, grain and sunflower fields and flowery valleys.

The forests are inhabited by deer, wild boars, foxes and small reptiles.

Mareuil-sur-Belle is a typical French village with all amenities: shops, butchers, small supermarket, pharmacy, post office, doctor, dentist, veterinarian, banks, Tabac with summers Dutch newspapers and a number of eateries. On Tuesday morning there is a small market in Mareuil.
Ribérac drive away where you will find the larger supermarkets within a half hour.
On Friday there is also one of the largest and liveliest markets in the area.
